We joke that Ellis is like “google translate” for dog behavior. He absolutely understands and respects dogs, and is passionate about sharing his knowledge with the people who love them. Truth is, he’s training US, not our dog! As he teaches us to communicate more effectively, “good” behaviors are reinforced, and “undesirable” behaviors are extinguished (ours, AND our dogs). Our Vizsla is part of our family, and -bottom line- working with Ellis has made our family happier, which is priceless. I can’t say enough about my absolute confidence in Ellis and Bill’s base of knowledge, experience, and commitment to happy, well adjusted pups! I would (and have) highly recommended him to ALL dog owners, just as he came highly recommended to us!

Private Hourly Training

In-person
Cost:    $120/hour, pro-rated

• A private assessment and consultation with the trainer. The client may choose the topic and fees will remain fixed regardless of the type of training. 
• Training session may take place in public locations such as parks, private businesses that welcome dogs or the client's home.
• Trainer will create a psychological model of the animal and discuss it with the client, identifying specific training techniques to modify behaviors.

Group Rates
Cost: $120 per hour PLUS $25 per hour for each additional dog-handler team.

• A group of 2 is $145/hour. If you split the amount it brings the cost down to only $72.50 per hour per person. 
• A group of 3 is $170/hour. If you split the amount it brings the cost down to only $56.66 per hour per person.
• A group of 4 is $195/hour. If you split the amount it brings the cost down to only $48.75 per hour per person.

Phone Consultation

Cost: $50/hour, pro-rated

• A private assessment and consultation with the trainer over the phone.
•  Based on the descriptions from the client the trainer will attempt to create a psychological model of the animal, identifying specific training techniques to modify behaviors.

 Group Socialization Practice

Cost: $45 per handler-dog team.​

•  We will create an opportunity for dogs who are socially reactive, to practice feeling calm and relaxed around strange dogs.
• We will be meeting in a large open space, with securely attached dogs, long leads, a positive reinforcer and no goals or expectations beyond relaxing. 
• 3 skill levels: non-contact, contact, and contact with low intervention.
• 10 teams per class.

AKC Canine Good Citizen Certification
Cost: $75/training session, $75/test

Started in 1989, the CGC Program is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.

Many dog owners choose Canine Good Citizen training as the first step in training their dogs. The Canine Good Citizen Program lays the foundation for other AKC activities such as obedience, agility, tracking, and performance events. As you work with your dog to teach the CGC skills, you'll discover the many benefits and joys of training your dog. Training will enhance the bond between you and your dog. Dogs who have a solid obedience education are a joy to live with-they respond well to household routines, have good manners in the presence of people and other dogs, and they fully enjoy the company of the owner who took the time to provide training, intellectual stimulation, and a high quality life.
